Hello my friends..

If you plan on playing this affair and you like the G-Men, I wouldn't wait too much longer to get on them as I fully expect the line to move somewhat once the "Joe Public" bettors start listening to the talking heads in the media telling them about how beat up these kitty cats are and especially so on the defensive side of the ball.

Gooooooooooood Luck!!

Giants & caro….OVER 34

The Tom Coughlin chapter in the New York Giant history book began with a "W" last week in a 34-24 win and cover over HC Dick Vermeil’s Chiefs in a contest that most watched for the sole purpose of seeing how rookie QB Eli Manning would perform in his first outing, however, it was forgotten about RB Ron Dayne that literally stole the show.

We elected to stay on the sidelines and watch the competitive results of the Warner vs Manning saga and simply pointed out that “Bowling Ball-Like” Ron Dayne was slated to start in the backfield…..and start he did as Dayne revved up his dormant engine and scored on TD jaunts of 29 and 67 yards and finished the contest with 11 totes for a total of 118 yds.

Needless to say Warner and Manning really didn’t play that much “Toss and catch” with their receivers but both performed equally well overall in completing a combined 10 of 20 tosses for 120 yards, in this contest at Carolina Eli Manning will get the start as HC Tom Coughlin wants to give each QB a fair shot with regard to winning the starting job.

The home faithful of these kitty cats will get to see their team in action for the first time this year as the cats enter this affair fresh off of an OT win over the Skins by the final of 23-20, fourteen of the cats points at Washington were provided by rookie WR Keary Colbert who caught two long TD passes from backup QB Chris Weinke.

These kitty cats have already notched their first win of the pre-season and thus will probably be a little flippant with regard to not really caring about the outcome of this contest as they have bigger fish to fry next week when New England comes to town for a Super Bowl rematch.

Meanwhile, it needs to be mentioned that Carolina won nine contests last year by a total of six points or less and have had to replace a couple of departed offensive linemen, thus it remains to be seen whether or not they will still possess as powerful of a running game as last season.

Look for the Giants to enter this affair with Tom Coughlin’s workman like attitude and take care of business as the starters will probably play a little longer in order to give both Manning and Warner equal opportunity to work with the first team, meanwhile these kitty cats are a little banged up defensively and do not perform well as a home favorite as evidenced by posting a 2-6 ATS mark last year when in this role.

KEY STAT:

These Giants have been money in the bank in years past by covering 10 of 12 times ATS when taking to the road in their first pre-season outing and scoring ten or more points, meanwhile one of the many highlights of Tom Coughlin’s time at Jacksonville stemmed from his Jags scoring more than ten points in 27 of 32 pre-season contests!!

Take care my friend and be well

Jim
